Common questions
ContactDeck can't see my contacts.
Go to Settings > Apps > ContactDeck > Contacts and choose Full Access, or pick the contacts you want it to see.
I trashed a contact. Is it gone?
No. Moving a contact to ContactDeck's Trash doesn't change anything until you empty the Trash. You can restore your contacts at any time before then.
What happens when I empty the Trash?
Those contacts are permanently deleted from Contacts. Because contacts sync, deleting them in ContactDeck also deletes them from all your synced devices and accounts, so ContactDeck asks first and offers to export a copy. Emptying the Trash cannot be undone.
How do I sort by date created or modified?
Download our free date-sorting shortcut and run it. Because of how iOS works, apps can't read when a contact was created or changed, so the shortcut gets those dates and passes them to ContactDeck on your iPhone.
How can I search my apps for a phone number, email or name?
First, download our free starter shortcuts, Search Messages and Search Mail. Then touch and hold any name, number or email on a card and pick one to search. You can add your own shortcuts too.
Does ContactDeck upload my contacts?
No. ContactDeck never uploads or collects your contacts. No account, no servers, no tracking. Your contacts stay secure on your iPhone, and you decide what happens to them. We never see them.
ContactDeck lets you export vCards before you empty the Trash, and you can choose to share them from there. If you choose Search Web on a name, phone number or email, we send only that one item to Google to search the web. ContactDeck never sends your contacts anywhere automatically.
